Craving: Cake Pops!

So I was sooo into the cake pop craze and wanted to hop on that trend.  My ingredients consisted of what you see in the picture. (Post-cake bake). All you need is a packaged cake mix (I used Duncan Hines), any size lollipop sticks (I picked mine up from Michael's), icing, and any decorations you prefer! I used sprinkles I found in the back of my cabinet, could've been old, who knows!
Cake pops require whipped icing.  I only had regular icing stocked in my dessert cabinet.  The solution? Mixmaster that shit and you get whipped icing! Whip it on the highest setting and you won't have to go spend useless money to get a different kind.
Once the batter was done, it was time to put the batter into small balls.  *Do not make the balls immediately after the cake is done.  If the cake is too moist, your balls will not stay together. (That's what she said) You have to make sure the cake is cool before adding the icing to the cake batter.
Once the balls were in place, an easier way to get the sticks to stay in place was to fill the ball with some icing.  The icing basically acted like glue.

Once the pops were in place, they were ready to be decorated.  I dipped them in melted chocolate and added sprinkles and chocolate chips!! This was the end result and they tasted AMAZING!!

Craving: Weekend Meals

Saturday night consisted of an Italian meal at a local restaurant in my hometown.  The portions are effing enormous and amazeballs. The food comes out searing hot and always taste phenomenal.  Check out the baked ziti on top and the chicken parm hero on bottom. Enjoy!

Attention Chocolate & Carb Lovers!

Tomorrow is supposed to be Food Porn Friday but this picture and recipe was too good to pass up.  Just look at this picture. I drool at the thought of eating a chocolate muffin filled with chocolate chips. And they're HEALTHY! Imagine these straight out of the oven? Oh em geeeeee. For all you health conscious betches out there, hit up this recipe before you end up reaching for that Dunkin' Donuts muffin with a whopping 600 calories.

Check out the recipe for these bad boys:

Triple Chocolate Chunk Muffin

Ingredients:
  • 1 3/4 cup oats
  •  3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa
  •  3 egg whites
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (or regular plain low fat yogurt)
  • 1/2 tsp cream of tartar (or 1-1/2 Tbsp. vinegar)
  • 1-1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1-1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup hot water
  • 1 cup sugar substitute (like Splenda granular) OR 1/4 cup + 2 tbs stevia
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (or use white chocolate or peanut butter chips!)
Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. This batter should make about 24 smaller muffins so whip out (2) 12-set muffin tins. (1 set if you're looking to make 12 big muffins) Fill them with cupcake liners or spray with cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. Mix all of the ingredients together, except for the chocolate chips with a mix-master. If you don't have a mix master, sucks for you bro.  Do this shit by hand.  Blend until the oats are ground and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Place the mixture in a bowl and gently stir in the chocolate chips (set the rest aside).
  4. Scoop mixture into your prepared muffin pans
  5. Bake the muffins for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Servings: 12 Big Muffins or 24 Smaller Muffins

NY Summer in Winter

For some reason, the Earth has decided to fuck with us and make it scorching hot one day and below 30 the next day. Currently, it is summer winter time here in New York and let me tell you, something ain't right.  I am not complaining about the glorious weather NY decided to breathe today.  Almost 70 in the beginning of March? Unheard of.  But my cravings have hit an all time high now that my body doesn't know if its supposed to sweat or freeze. A summer drink is in order or a possible summer snack.  Fortunately, the corporate world allows for an hour everyday to get absolutely hammered (yet refined) with your co-workers.  Us "business people" refer to this blissful hour as HAPPY HOUR. Because I'll be participating on this warm Thursday evening, I wanted to share a drink I wish was available to me 24/7.  However, beer and crappy mixed drinks will have to suffice.

I introduce you to the Watermelon Margarita.

The Ingredients? Patron Silver tequila, lime juice, orange juice, agave nectar, watermelon cubes.

Craving: Gossip

Suddenly I got this craving for some juicy gossip; however, this is old news and not so juicy.  The pint-sized, pumpkin flesh, fist pumping guidette, Snooki, finally came up from the rock she thought she was hiding under and admitted she is indeed 3 months pregnant and engaged to on and off again boyfriend, Jionni.  How convenient. Nothing like a shotgun wedding.  God bless the pudgy midget that she is planning to conceive.

Craving: Food

My quick lunch break from a 9-5 work day consisted of sushi from this hole-in-the-wall gem. The placed is called Ayama and it was actually incredible.  You'd think a sushi place pricing "any 2 rolls" for $8 would breed shitastic sushi but I was pleasantly surprised.  Hop on this bargain bandwagon and check out Amaya @ 234 E 4th St., New York, NY 10009.

**An added bonus, you'll love your pint-sized, helmet wearing delivery man

What's in a name?

Naming a blog is one of the most time consuming and stressful things.  Where did Corporate Craver come from? Well, I work in the corporate world and always have a craving for something.  It is like I'm permanently pregnant. (Minus the 80 pounds overweight aspect) When I say I work in the corporate world, it has only been a whopping three weeks of real life.  I am straight out of college so my cravings for greasy, disgusting, chocolate filled foods still exist. Between my hour long sleepy, boring, agonizing commutes and 9-5 work, I find time to explore pretty much everything.  So I present you with this blog; which may or may not be god awful. I might post recipes I decide to make if I'm not dead tired from working all day (a.k.a commuting). I might post food reviews (because I'm just like, such an experienced food critic). But often I'll post close up, drool-worthy pictures of food (because HD pictures of food are my specialty). I was also given the suggestion to post my other cravings; whether it be a craving for gossip, funny video, or the desire to curl up in a ball and watch an old tv show.  Depending on the day and time, I'll be craving something. The possibilities are endless...
